David McManaway (1927-2010) was born in Chicago, IL in 1927. He received his degree from the University of Arkansas. He was the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship and the Engelhard Award from the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, MA. McManaway's work was included in many solo exhibitions including Dallas Museum of Art; Southern Methodist University Gallery, Dallas and Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston. Selected public collections include the Menil Collection, Houston, TX; Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and the Dallas Museum of Art.
