Sean McConnell concert

PARAMOUNT ABILENE PRESENTS

SEAN MCCONNELL IN CONCERT

NOVEMBER 13TH AT 7:30 PM

TICKETS ON SALE JULY 26TH AT 10:00 AM!

Singer, songwriter and producer Sean McConnell’s latest collection of songs, A Horrible Beautiful Dream approaches the difficult task of asking questions of what one really thinks they know, in the simultaneous struggle of not being afraid of the answers that emerge. Musically, the project wraps McConnell’s rich voice in moments of dark intimacy as well as vivid brightness, and guests such as The Wood Brothers, Natalie Hemby, Audra Mae, and Dan Tyminski underscore McConnell’s versatility as creative partner and commentator.

McConnell’s goal in the creation of A Horrible Beautiful Dream was an album reflecting the chaotic time in which it was made, but still striving for timelessness.

Tribute to Johnny Cash

A show that walks the line! For the past 17 years, Garner and his band have faithfully recreated Cash's biggest hits with stunning accuracy in this not-to-be-missed musical event. This world-class tribute to the ‘Man in Black’ has been featured live in concert on PBS stations, and has even performed at Folsom and San Quentin Prisons where Johnny Cash recorded his biggest albums. The show is a fun, toe-tapping trip down memory lane honoring Cash's life and music, all set to his signature boom-chicka-boom sound. Enjoy all the hits of the Man in Black – “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Ring of Fire,” “I Walk the Line,” and more!

Garner and his band have performed more than 600 professional shows, including a special concert at Folsom State Prison in 2008 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Cash’s infamous live album recorded behind prison walls. Gene Beley, one of two reporters in Cash’s entourage at the historic 1968 Folsom Prison concert, says this about Garner and his show: "Garner and his band give concertgoers their money's worth," says Beley. "This act will not disappoint the people who wish to resurrect that classic Johnny Cash voice and rhythm."

In addition to performing across the United States, Garner’s group has released three full-length albums, making them the most recorded and published Johnny Cash tribute show in the nation.

THE MARSHALL TUCKER BAND & JEFFERSON STARSHIP

Legendary Southern rock group The Marshall Tucker Band (MTB) and rock staple Jefferson Starship are coming together for a historic road show Live on Cloud 9 Tour. The two bands have a history dating back to the 1970s, and MTB lead singer Doug Gray couldn’t be more thrilled about reuniting with Jefferson Starship.

The Marshall Tucker Band, formed in 1972 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, embodies timeless Southern rock. Led by vocalist Doug Gray, their music, including hits like “Heard It in a Love Song” and “Can’t You See,” has left a lasting impact on fans and fellow musicians. With a rich catalog, their influence extends through generations. The band, undeterred by time, continues its musical journey, promising more stories to tell and a future as vibrant as their legendary past.

Jefferson Starship, formed by Paul Kantner in the 70s, embraced his vision of musical exploration and concept albums.
