June ArtWalk: Fan ArtWalk!
Presented by The Center for Contemporary Arts
June ArtWalk: Fan ArtWalk, June 11th, 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM as a drive-by art experience on Cypress Street to accomplish multiple purposes.
1) give people a reason to come downtown on ArtWalk night,
2) have a fun way for people to help the less fortunate with donating a box fan,
3) do a family friendly event that is safe in these crazy times.

Recommended price of admission would be a box fan or $20 per vehicle. TXU Energy is underwriting the cost of fans for 200 families who will receive vouchers for their free admission. The box fans will be distributed the following week to area nonprofits who help low income families stay cool. Event “entrance” will be at Cypress and N. 2nd, where attendees can drop off fans, or donations. Artists will have art displayed curbside down Cypress street, and Bad Karaoke will be playing live in front of the United Way! The Center and other downtown businesses will be open to the public as well!

"Singin' in the Rain"

"Singin' in the Rain"

Paramount Film Series presents "Singin' in the Rain" starring Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds. When the transition is being made from silent films to "talkies," everyone has trouble adapting. Don and Lina have been cast repeatedly as a romantic couple, but when their latest film is remade into a musical, only Don has the voice for the new singing part. After a lot of practise with a diction coach, Lina still sounds terrible, and Kathy, a bright young aspiring actress, is hired to record over her voice. 1952, musical/romance, 1 hour, 53 minutes with intermission, Rated G. Paramount Film Series tickets are $7 for adults and $6 for students, seniors, military, and children.
