This adaptation of the classic Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale comes from the celebrated Panto Company, a well-known British children’s theater company with a US touring division. Featuring attractive staging and a humorous script, the show will take audience members to an undersea world of mermaids, colorful sea creatures and comical villains. The award-winning production, follows the dreams of a young girl who believes there is a better life for her out of the water. With stunning scenery, eye-catching costumes, original songs and lots of audience participation, this show makes for a thoroughly entertaining family day out.
When cool, smooth Pete the Cat moves in with the perfectly normal Biddle family, he rocks their world with his strumming and strutting. Everybody loves Pete, except for Jimmy, the world's most organized 2nd grader. But when Jimmy draws a blank in art class, Pete takes him on the inspirational journey of a lifetime! The whole family will love Pete's hilarious, jazzy antics in this toe-tapping musical.

Since we were not able to dance and sing with Joe at the Children's Art & Literacy Festival this year, the Abilene Cultural Affairs Council and Young Audiences of Abilene decided to invite him down to the Storybook Capital of America for a little socially distanced entertainment!
In order to stay in accordance with CDC guidelines, we will have two show times and each performance will be limited to approx. 90 people (20 families). Families will be asked to sit 6' apart from other families and masks will be required for adults and strongly encouraged for children. Picnic blankets are welcomed, but please no chairs. This is an outdoor event so please prepare accordingly. There will be a take-and-make craft available for the kids to do at their own pace in their own space, and we encourage you to bring a picnic dinner or breakfast to enjoy while you watch.
PLEASE NOTE: Performances will be 45 minutes long. The Convention Center will not be open during these performances, so the closest public restroom will be in the parking lot across the street from the Abilene Public Library on Friday night, or inside of the Abilene Public Library on Saturday morning.
Tickets are $5 per family (plus ticketing fees)
