The Center for Contemporary Arts invites the community to participate in ArtWalk: Honk for Heroes!
This unique ArtWalk event is sponsored by Taylor Telecom.
This horn-honking parade will honor workers who've been on the front lines during the pandemic, and we want everyone in Abilene to feel free to join in.
Decorate your vehicles, signs, and come up with any other way to show your support for these workers. Plus, we'll have some prizes for best-decorated vehicles and signs!
WHEN: August 13; Meet at 5:30 p.m. Parade starts at 5:45.
WHERE: Meet at the far east side of the Westgate Town Center parking lot (4365 S. 1st)
ROUTE: We'll drive by the following locations where workers will be outside to hear our horns honking:
Abilene-Taylor County Law Enforcement Center on S. 1st St.
Fire Station 1 on Grape St.
Hendrick Medical Center on Pine St.
Up Cypress Street where all other front-line workers (grocery store employees, utility workers, etc.) are invited to space out 6 feet apart with masks along the sidewalk.
ABOUT ARTWALK: ArtWalk is a monthly mini arts festival in downtown Abilene, presented by the Center for Contemporary Arts. It's on the second Thursday of each month, from 5-8 p.m.
