Texas Star Trading Company, 174 Cypress St., has two book signings scheduled in October.

            Bob Phillips, founder and producer of the popular long-running independent TV show Texas Country Reporter, will sign copies of his new book, A Good Long Drive: Fifty Years of Texas Country Reporter, from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9.

            Lindy Bell, sister of retired Abilene Fire Chief Larry Bell, will sign copies of her acclaimed debut novel, Fully Involved -- about the dedication of, and dangers facing, firefighters -- from 1-2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16.             

            Glenn and Carol Dromgoole, co-owners of Texas Star, said customers will be strongly encouraged to wear face coverings to the events out of respect to the visiting authors. Weather permitting, the signings will be outside under the awning.
